I was thinking today

After reading the question about betterments the fine citizens of Haysi have brought up I got to thinking about the topic. I specifically mentioned three areas that should be investigated, 1) the turf field, 2) the brick veneer on the field houses, and 3) the lovely custom mural tile work at the entrance. I would be curious to know how much each of these cost and where the money came from. It had to come from one of two sources, the BOS gave it to them or they took it out of the Corp building fund. In either instance this was a bad choice for them to make. In the instance of using Corp money, it was not allowed and they were told, which means misappropriation of funds. If it was the BOS then whomever agreed to it needs to be replaced next election cycle, including school board members who were involved. Wait, get rid of these people over the betterments, that is crazy, right? No, it is not follow this. Everyone living in the United States knew that President Obama had passed regulations that were going to kill the coal industry which would cut our county budget. The very next year after the mega school was opened up the county faced dire straits and had to make massive cuts which led to job cuts, that hurt the county. In the end the decision to make these three cosmetic changes cost people their jobs, which was not fair to any of them.
What if they would have voted against these three improvements, what would that have hurt? Our football field would have played on grass, well they did for the previous decades. Our entrance would not have a custom statement on the floor, did any of our other schools have one before? The field house would not have brick on the outside of them, what would it hurt. Bad decisions by our leaders are going to kill this whole county.
