For the first time since it made its way to the ballot I did not vote for the food tax. Why, because of all the stuff that was sent to me prior to the election. I understand that EVERY government needs money to run, which is also true about Dickenson County. Why not vote for it then? I simply cannot bring myself to give money to this county, that they will not be accountable for. If the BOS stops taking expensive trips, the school board stops paying people $150 per hour, the superintendent quits raising her benefits while the county continues to struggle. Get the spending in order, show this to the public and I will vote for it in the future.
