Free Lunch for All!!! If Dickenson County Qualifies why are we not taking Advantage of it?
After being alerted to the possibility of a Federal program being available that would bring free lunch to all of our students I did some checking. The two links above lead to information about the program and the information I was given checks out. Any school system that has at least 40% of their students on free lunch qualifies for all students to get free lunch and breakfast for everyone. Is there anyway that this program should not be launched in this county? Please call Mrs. Robinson at 276-926-4643 or email her at hrobinson@dcps.k12.va.us and demand an answer to this question.
The only reason that makes sense to me as to why we would not participate in this is that the school system gets a set rate per meal from the federal government and they can set their own higher prices to help with the budget shortage.
