How long have you lived in Dickenson County- Over 25 years

Do you enjoy your job? No, I would like to have different opportunities.

Do you think the county is headed in a positive direction for our children? What children, it seems we have less and less kids around. This county does not have any opportunities for them. What do they do for entertainment? Where can they hang out with friends? Where can they even go to buy name brand clothing? This county is turning in to a retirement community, with no chance to turn it around

Do you think the county does everything in its power to bring new industry into the county? NO, I do not, look at Wise they just landed a call center with 500 new jobs. The last business we brought in was SERCO and it does not hire on a regular basis. We built an industrial building and it was never used and eventually turned into a higher education complex, missing the higher ed part of it.

Do you vote in county elections? Why? Yes, always. Hoping that one vote can make the difference is hopeless, but you never know

What are your feelings about David Moore, the County Administrator? Who is he? What is he supposed to do? I read the paper and see his name but have no idea who he is or what he is supposed to do.

Do you think the Board of Supervisors look out for the citizens? No I do not. I feel they look out for their positions without regard for the county. They do not vote for the best interest of the county, they vote for what they feel will keep them in power.

Do you think the county should provide minutes of every public meeting to the citizens? Yes I do, without a doubt. If you inform us it requires you to remain honest.

Do you think the county should raise taxes to give extra money to any agency? Maybe the sheriff’s office if they are short staffed or NEED new equipment. Definitely not the school system, one of the reasons they shut down my alma mater was to save money. Where did that money go? Why did they not build a school that could save money?

What has changed in Dickenson County the last 5 years? Population has aged! We have no youth in the county, this has to change. Without opportunity there is no hope.

Are you ok with me sharing your name? No, I do not want my opinions known. I am a very private person.
